Northern Eifel, Hohes Venn and the medieval city core with numerous half-timber houses and small aisles- in the city of Monschau and its surrounding there`s a lot to discover. The Eifelsteig and other signposted routes for hiking fans run very close by. The youth hostel Monschau-Hargard, certified by the ADFC (German cyclists club) with the bed&bike-sports quality seal, is located at two of the most popular cycling-routes of the Rhineland. Both routes- the ambitious „Eifel-Höhen-Route“ and the family-friendly „Rur-Ufer-Weg“ can be explored on your own account. GPS navigation devices and maps for mountain bikers are available at the hostel for individual tours. Special highlights are the guided hill moor-wanderings which we are offering in cooperation with experiences nature-guides.

The completely new designed youth hostel is located amidst meadows and forests at the edge of the Hohe Venn. The bright rooms are appealing and all equipped with shower and toilet. Here you will experience a relaxed stay- also with mobility impairments. The youth hostel was proofed for accessibility and certified with the uniform nationwide seal „Travelling for Everyone“. The common rooms make the house ideal for music and conference groups. Here you will rehearse or hold a meeting completely undisturbed and can enjoy the wonderful nature at the breaks. The stay can be supplemented with teambuilding training or alpaca hikes. School classes and families are especially delighted by the outdoor area with lots of space for playing and frolicing around, the grass football pitch as well as table tennis room. In the evening time you have the agony of choice between barbecue, pizza party, campfire stick-bread and discotheque.
