Partiotalo – Scouts’ Hostel offers affordable accommodation next to the Pielisjoki River, in a peaceful residential area near the center of Joensuu. It’s just a couple of kilometers from the train station, and a 20-minute walk from the market square to the hostel.
You can stay in female, male, or mixed dormitory rooms, or in 1-4 person private rooms. Guests have access to free wireless internet, a self-service kitchen, spacious common areas, and an outdoor grill. We do not serve breakfast at the hostel, but we sell affordable breakfast vouchers for a nearby restaurant. A grocery store is located just a couple of hundred meters away. Bed linen are available for an additional fee.
We run the accommodation with the help of volunteer scouts, so during the winter season, we do not have a permanent reception and are only open for pre-booked groups or stays of more than two nights. During the summer, local scouts get some summer work opportunities at the hostel. All the proceeds from the accommodation operations are used entirely for supporting scout activities.
For those arriving by car, there is free parking space available with heating outlets. You can also rent bicycles on-site, and cross-country skiing tracks can be found 100 meters away. You can spend your evening singing karaoke, as karaoke equipment is available in the common areas! We offer an affordable and convenient solution even for larger groups. We can accommodate groups of up to 44 people. While we do not offer restaurant services, groups have access to a kitchen.
