Hohenstaufen. Surrounded by nature reserves and habitats. A village. A mountain. A ruined castle. The ancestral castle of the House of Hohenstaufen once stood directly above the hostel. Even the royal and imperial family enjoyed the view from the 684 m high Kaiserberg mountain. The historical mountain, which can be seen from afar, is the landmark of the town and is the highest point in the Göppingen district. Hohenstaufen is located in one of the most charming and beautiful landscapes of Baden-Württemberg, between Göppingen and Schwäbisch Gmünd.
Not in the mood for “old stones”? How about a visit to the Märklin Erlebniswelt (model train and toys) or to the Schwaben Park theme park? Or would you prefer to go down the slide in the thermal bath? Göppingen is also home to the famous “Tigerenten Club” for children. Fancy a visit? And in the evening, night owls and astronomers can enjoy themselves in the Messelberg Observatory.
Hohenstaufen Youth Hostel is located on the outskirts of the Hohenstaufen district of Göppingen. The huge area around the hostel tempts visitors to work off any excess energy.
How about a match on the hostel’s own football area or volleyball court? Or enjoy some “stick bread” at the campfire in the barbecue area. If you like things a bit quieter, you can make yourself comfortable with books and games in the cosy lounge.
The Hohenstaufen Youth Hostel team is looking forward to your visit.
