Fancy a walk by the Rhine? A trip across the bridge over the Rhine to France? Kehl is cosmopolitan. And warm-hearted. In Kehl, you’ll experience more summer days than in most places in Germany. The winters are shorter and the summer evenings warmer and longer.
How about going up the Weißtannenturm, an observation tower 38 m high? Have you climbed the 210 steps? On a clear day, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Black Forest and the Vosges. The play area, with a “Wasserband” (“ribbon of water”), a “balancing garden”, a pirate ship and skate park, is along the cut-off meander of the river Rhine.
Want a bit more action? Anyone looking for a big city experience can be in Strasbourg within a few minutes . After climbing 332 steps, the view from the minster is incredible.
