By becoming a member of Hostelling International or any of its 60 Member Associations around the world you join a global community of like-minded travellers and support a network of not-for-profit Youth Hostel Associations. As well as getting access to member rates or a discount on accommodation in all HI hostels worldwide, the membership also offers thousands of travel discounts at home and abroad.

There a number of ways you can join the Hostelling International community:
In some destinations membership is compulsory to stay in HI hostels, so please check in advance of your stay. To find out what’s on offer in the countries/areas where you are travelling, follow the links below – these will take you to the member discounts pages on the Member Association website.
In some cases, you will need to be a member of the local association in order to redeem the discount. Please check at a local level what is applicable. Don’t forget to ask about local discounts at the hostels where you stay.
