Come and experience Bad Urach with its caves and waterfalls, castles and palaces. If you fancy a dip then take a trip to the nearby AlbThermen thermal baths and the lovely Höhenfreibad open-air pool. Going up in the world? You can go climbing in the surrounding area. Would you prefer a tour of discovery? A visit to the show caves is a great holiday experience for both children and parents. The spectacular escarpment of the Swabian Alb landscape builds to its climax here. Even Stone Age people loved the area – the “Rulaman Way” takes you to the Stone Age and back. The town’s landmark are the ruins of Hohenurach Castle (11th century), which overlooks the old town centre, with its cosy cafes and mediaeval residential properties. Bad Urach Youth Hostel, where work on its renovation and extension finished in October 2011, is located below the ruins of Hohenurach Castle, on the way to the Urach waterfall, surrounded by woods and meadows.
After extensive modernization and expansion, Bad Urach Youth Hostel was re-opened in October 2011 and is the second hostel in Baden-Wuerrttemberg to be certified as an Environmental Hostel.
The team of the Environmental Hostel in Bad Urach is looking forward to your visit!
