The Feldburg Youth hostel sits on the summit of the Feldberg mountain, a skiing and snowboarding paradise! Nature at the top of Baden-Wuerttemberg is wild and the scenery simply beautiful. Not far from Titisee and Schluchsee lakes you’ll find the highest mountain in the Black Forest. In winter, skiers are spoilt by 50 km of prepared slopes and several snow machines. In summer, it’s a dream: how about a ride in the cable car to Feldberg Tower? In the heart of the largest nature reserve in the Black Forest, Feldberg comes out on top!
The Feldberg Youth Hostel is well equipped to meet the needs and desires of school classes, groups and families. Built as a hotel in 1907, it became a hostel, named after the Alemannic poet Johann Peter Hebel, in 1955. The main building has the typical Black Forest atmosphere – you can still sense and see the former hotel. Go back in time via the quaint main staircase up to the cosy rooms under the roof and let the typical wood panelling of yesteryear with its paintings work its magic on you. The mountain house and the building next-door form a harmonious contrast to the hostel. One common thread is the lovely and colourful decoration that is present throughout the building and combines the old and the new.
The youth hostel has 267 beds and is perfect for individuals as well as groups. All rooms have a wash basin and wood furniture, some are en-suite. For each group of 25 people one common room can be made available. All meals are served as buffet. Our 180 m² sports hall offers room for many activities (2 hrs per day free of charge).
