Hostel Suomenlinna is located in a Unesco world heritage site just a 15min ferry ride from Helsinki city center. Surroundings and the historical sea fortress in the middle of Finnish archipelago are worth to experience. We offer 39 beds in 8 rooms in two floors, a small customer kitchen for light cooking and a cozy lounge area. We offer free wifi all around the house, a guest computer, TV and complimentary coffee & tea for all our guests. Breakfast needs to be booked 24h in advance. Our guest kitchen is equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave, water boiler and a coffee machine.Our rooms and facilities are clean and homey, they are suitable for back packers, couples, friends and families as well. You can choose a private room or a bunk bed in a dorm. All beds are clean and comfortable. You can find board games and books in our lounge area.For our little guests we have a chest of toys, a high chair and equipment for outdoor games. A baby bed is complimentary. Getting to the hostel: From the Helsinki-Vantaa airport train services I and P both runs frequently between central railway station and Helsinki Airport. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes onboard both trains. PLEASE NOTE! Helsinki Airport is located in the city of Vantaa. You must have a regional ticket (5 00€/adult) onboard the train. You can also get to the central railway station by Finnair City Bus which is the fastest way. Buses arrives to Eliel Square platform 30 next to the central railway station. HSL/HRT tickets are not valid on the bus. The bus runs frequently every 20 minutes and costs 6 90€. Credit cards are accepted.From central railway station you can either walk (1 5 km) or take the tram number 2 from ”Lasipalatsi” tram stop. Tram number 2 towards ”Olympiaterminaali” stops at ”Kauppatori” (Market Square) where the ferry departs. The long distance buses arrive to Kamppi terminal. Most of the local or regional buses arriving to Helsinki have their terminus next to the Hki railway station. The Suomenlinna quarter and Hostel Suomenlinna is situated 15min comfortable ferry trip from the main land and the main market square. The Helsinki city transport ferry is very punctual circulates 1-2 times/hour in winter time and 3-4 times/hour in summer time. The Helsinki city transport tickets are valid on the ferry. Buy the ticket before entering the ferry in advance or from a machine at the ferry stop. Single ticket 2 90 EUR bought from the ticket machine (valid for 1h on all Helsinki vehicles) Suomenlinna -ticket 5.00EUR (valid on the Suomenlinna ferry for 12hours). For vehicles please contact Helsinki Regional Transport that runs the ferry. All the trains arrives in Helsinki Main Railway station.
