Kangaskoti is a cosy and communal accommodation located in a former elementary school building in Kinnula, nestled in the peaceful rural landscape of Central Finland. Within the walls of this old school now operates a warm-hearted hostel run by two local families with children. The owners’ homes are under the same roof, creating a uniquely welcoming and homelike atmosphere for guests.
There’s plenty of space for solo travellers as well as larger groups – the spacious rooms and inviting common areas, renovated into the former school premises, invite you to relax and feel at ease. You’ll stay comfortably in single or double rooms, with access to cosy lounges, a shared kitchen, and a large yard area.
Kangaskoti offers peace and space, but also a sense of community and opportunities to join occasional events and workshops. You’re welcome to visit and help care for the chickens in the yard together with the hosts. Nature is always close at Kangaskoti – you can hike, bike, fish, or try stand-up paddleboarding on the clean nearby lakes. In the evening, you can relax by the glow of a campfire or listen to the birdsong in the yard of the old school.
