Kartanohostel AnnaCatharina is located in Savonlinna, near the Linnansaari and Kolovesi National Parks. The hostel has a rich history; the building, constructed in the early 1900s as a poorhouse, has undergone a transformation from a nursing home to a cozy and warm hostel.
From the hostel, there’s a short drive (18 km) to Oravi, where you can easily access the Linnansaari National Park by boat or canoe. The nearest beach (Saimaa, Kallioranta) is just 1 km away. Next door, you’ll find the Tiisanmäki sheep farm, where you can explore a Finnish organic farm. And, of course, all of Savonlinna’s events and attractions are just a half-hour drive away.
At AnnaCatharina, you’ll sleep peacefully surrounded by nature and enjoy a delicious breakfast! The courtyard also features two traditional wood-heated outdoor saunas and a Kota (Finnish teepee-like shelter) near the saunas. There are also forest trails and a lookout tower in the area. The AnnaCatharina banquet hall can accommodate 80-100 people, making it an excellent venue for meetings and celebrations.
