Nuorisokeskus Piispala is a nationally recognized youth center that began its operations in 1982 with support from the Ministry of Education and Culture. It is situated by the shores of Lake Kivijärvi in the picturesque northern part of Central Finland. Nuorisokeskus Piispala is a genuine destination for sports and youth tourism, nestled in the midst of beautiful and serene nature. By using Nuorisokeskus Piispala’s facilities, you are also contributing to Finnish youth activities.
With diverse and high-quality sports, recreational, and conference facilities along with excellent services, the stunning natural surroundings, and guest-friendly prices, Nuorisokeskus Piispala provides an ideal setting for school camps, youth and sports camps, family vacations, as well as corporate well-being and training days. Whether you’re on your own or with a group, you’re welcome to Piispala. The Small Animal Home “Pihka” is at the heart of Nuorisokeskus Piispala’s Green Care activities. Pihka is home to a cheerful group of goats, a pig, chickens, ponies, chinchillas, and guinea pigs.
Piispala offers a total of 250 beds in well-equipped row houses, wooden apartment buildings, semi-detached houses, and cabin-style lodges. With loft sleeping arrangements, Piispala can accommodate over 400 people. Accommodations are spread between the main building of Piispala and the water and ice sports center called PiiSpa. All accommodation units have their own shower and toilet facilities, refrigerator, and coffee maker.
Piispala’s in-house kitchen provides delicious and healthy food in line with nutritional recommendations, offering buffet-style meals, evening and snacks, as well as catering for meetings. The warm and inviting dining spaces of Piispala are located in the charmingly named “Piispantupa,” the former Piispalankylä village school building. Upon request, meal services can also be delivered to meeting rooms, saunas, common areas, and outdoor locations.
