Danhostel Flensborg Fjord

Danhostel Flensborg Fjord is an old school house in the village of Rinkenæs, just 2 km from Flensborg Fjord, a 10-minute drive from the German border and 4 km from the castle town of Gråsten. There are 54 rooms in total, 29 rooms with ensuite, 6 rooms with private bathrooms in the hallway, and 19 other rooms with 9 shared bathrooms. Guests include single travellers, business travellers, families, groups, school camps and course/meeting participants. At the hostel you will find free Wi-Fi, parking, bike racks, tea and guest kitchens, a living room with a fireplace, a pool table, a fitness centre with massage rooms, gym, sports hall, two football fields and a cinema. There is a large outdoor area with various amenities which include shelters, sauna and campfire.

Use Danhostel Flensborg Fjord as a base for trips in Denmark and Germany. The surrounding area of the hostel has beautiful scenery, attractions and cycle routes. Gendarmstien (trail), at Flensborg Fjord, is the perfect route for cycling and hiking. Whether you cycle, take the bus or drive, a must-see area is a route along the fjord called Fjordvejen. There are two ice cream shops along the way which sell hot dogs and more. Visit Gråsten Palace, the summer residence of Denmark’s Royal Family.  The English garden and the chapel which houses about 80 paintings are open to the public when the Royal Family is away.  Take a trip to Dybbøl and learn about the Mill and the War of 1864.  Sønderborg Castle in Sønderborg, a beautiful town by the fjord is worth a visit.
