Hiisi Hostel Vihti offers cosy and memorable accommodation in the former police station building, locally known as “Selli”, located in the heart of Vihti village. The building served as the local police station until the early 2000s, after which it stood empty when the police relocated to Karkkila. In the summer of 2025, Selli was given a new life as a modern hostel.
Staying at the hostel is easy and contactless: both the main entrance and the rooms are accessed with door codes delivered to guests on the day of arrival. The private rooms are clean, comfortable and neatly prepared, complemented by shared showers, toilets, a communal kitchen, a lounge and laundry facilities. Although the building has been renovated into a pleasant and modern place to stay, it still carries its history with pride. One original cell has been preserved in its authentic condition, and several rooms offer the chance to sleep in a refurbished former holding cell, complete with its characteristic heavy door and small window. The hostel also features spacious, well-equipped rooms with kitchen and lounge areas that provide added comfort and flexibility for longer stays or different needs.
Hiisi Hostel Vihti enjoys an excellent location right in the centre of Vihti’s village, nestled between two supermarkets and next to the bus station. There is plenty of free parking on site, and all essential services, cafés, restaurants and local attractions are within walking distance. History enthusiasts can explore the nearby ruins of St. Birgitta’s Church and the exhibitions at Vihti Museum, while more active guests will appreciate the proximity of Vihti Ski Center, nearby golf courses and local riding stables. The hostel combines a homely atmosphere with modern convenience: guests can cook in the shared kitchen, make use of the surrounding services with ease, and take advantage of the complimentary laundry facilities. Fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, and great care is taken to maintain cleanliness and operate responsibly.
