Hostel Iiris is located in the Iiris Centre, conveniently accessible in the Itäkeskus area of Helsinki. The Iiris Centre is a service and activity hub for the visually impaired, managed by the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired. By staying at Hostel Iiris, you also support work benefiting people with disabilities.
Hostel Iiris features 40 comfortable rooms. The spacious rooms, accommodating 1–3 people, include a private bathroom, refrigerator, radio, and Wi-Fi. Some rooms can be connected with adjoining doors to create family rooms. Baby cots and extra beds are also available. Nearby the accommodation, there are lounge areas with TVs and kitchenette facilities, as well as laundry facilities. The Iiris Center and its accommodations are designed to be fully accessible for people with sensory and mobility impairments.
The hostel is easily reachable by car, and the metro provides a direct 15-minute connection to the city centre. The nearby allotment garden area and seashore offer great outdoor activities. The building also has a playground for children. Groups can book recreational and meeting facilities as well as the swimming pool area.
