Vaihelan Tila is located in the village of Pappinen, 16 km from the Joutsa village center, on the road connecting Highway 9 (E63) and Highway 4 (E75) between Korpilahti and Joutsa (Road 610). The easiest way to reach the hostel is by car, motorcycle, or bicycle. Vaihelan Tila offers hostel and cottage accommodation as well as meeting facilities.
At the hostel, you can stay in rooms for 1-4 people. It’s also possible to add 5 extra beds to the rooms. You can either bring your own bed linens or rent them from the hostel. Hostel guests have access to a cozy fireplace/TV room, well-equipped kitchen, shower room, wood-heated sauna, and toilet. You can also pre-order breakfast from the hostel. The hostel is also suitable for small groups.
The forests and forest roads surrounding Vaihelan Tila are suitable for hiking, cycling, as well as picking mushrooms and berries. The Leivonmäki National Park (13 km away) offers various forest and swamp terrains with well-marked trails. On the nearby lakes, you can row with the hostel’s boats, fish, and during winter, go ice fishing.
