Welcome to the original functionalist-style accommodation, Lomahostelli Keuruu! Designed by architect Aulis E. Hämäläinen, the building radiates the timeless beauty of 1940s architecture and welcomes guests with the same warmth and authenticity that have defined this place for decades.
Lomahostelli Keuruu is part of the Keurusselkä Resort, which offers a wide range of services for relaxation and holiday enjoyment – including a spa that is open to all hostel guests. The spa features a swimming pool, a warm jacuzzi with stunning views over Lake Keurusselkä and a small children’s pool. In addition, there are separate saunas for men and women, heated during all opening hours. With the virtual water exercise system, you can choose your preferred workout program from a screen and enjoy light, refreshing movement in the water. For members of partner organizations and Hostelling International cardholders, a visit to the spa costs only 5 €/person (normally 10 €), and breakfast is available for 14 €/person (normally 16 €).
The hostel offers a variety of accommodation options, including family rooms with extra beds available for 30 €/person. Pets are welcome for a fee of 20 €. Rooms and holiday apartments are available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 12:00 noon on the day of departure. Upstairs, guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and coffee maker – perfect for longer stays as well.
Lomahostelli Keuruu is beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Keurusselkä, approximately 10 km from the center of Keuruu. The surrounding area is ideal for outdoor activities and nature experiences, with numerous marked hiking trails nearby – including the Jukojärvi, Jylhä, and Riiho routes, as well as the Keurusselkä nature trails that wind through scenic lake views and peaceful forests. In addition, the Visit Keuruu website offers plenty of tips for hiking destinations and memorable outdoor experiences in the Keuruu area: visitkeuruu.fi/palvelut/retkeily. In summer, the shallow sandy beach is perfect for swimming and relaxation, and nostalgic cruises on the paddle steamer Elias Lönnrot offer a unique way to explore the lake. Keuruu is also known for its vibrant cultural offerings. The prestigious Serlachius Museums are just a 30-minute drive away, and the region hosts various events, showcases local artisans, and features historical attractions such as the old wooden church in Keuruu.
Recreational opportunities abound, including padel and tennis courts, a mini golf course, a beach volleyball court, and an 18-hole disc golf course located about one kilometre away. You can also rent e-bikes, canoes, SUP boards, and other sports equipment for active holiday adventures.
