Hostel Lomakivi is located on a charming countryside farm between Lahti and Kouvola, surrounded by the peaceful rural landscapes of Iitti. Horses and ponies are part of the farm’s everyday life, offering guests the chance to relax in their company and experience the unique atmosphere of country living. You can unwind with a horse, ride along forest trails, enjoy the thrill of a horse-drawn carriage ride, or explore the world of horses in a safe and welcoming environment.
The breathable wooden buildings provide cosy hostel rooms and spacious holiday houses suitable even for longer stays. Groups can book accommodation as well as catering services in the farm’s atmospheric main house. Under the cherry tree, you can enjoy a rustic farmhouse breakfast and other pre-ordered local delicacies. Guests have access to a shared kitchen, living room and washing facilities, and the sauna can be reserved separately.
From the yard of Lomakivi begins a 7.8 km nature trail and a 1.1 km running track. Bicycles are available for rent, and nearby you will find a golf course, guided archery, church boat rowing, a swimming beach, ski trails and the village centre – all within walking distance. Repovesi National Park and the historic Werla Mill Village are both within a one-hour drive. Just a few kilometres from the hostel you can visit the summer café in Iitti village, the pink ice cream kiosk, the traditional red wooden cruciform church, the local theatre stage and the home shore of the Iitti church boat rowers.
Lomakivi invites you to be inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Iitti and to experience life as it once was in a traditional rural village. The farm’s horses, the calming countryside surroundings and the nearby nature offer a chance to slow down and recharge. Groups can participate in guided cooking activities in the main house, and the holiday homes’ private saunas add a touch of relaxation to your stay.
