Little neighbour of Düsseldorf? As if: the city of Neuss has got a lot to offer itself. At least the history of the city of Neuss began more than 2000 years ago. Back then Romans settled between Erft and Rhine and founded with the city Novaesium an important military site. In the Middle Ages Neuss became an important trading town and pilgrimage site. This impressing history of the city is to track at many places in the city reegion, for example at the Quirinus-Münster, the Romaneum and the Roman military camp in Neuss-Gnadental. As an alternative programme a trip to the snowdome Neuss, to the high rope course or to the „KÖ“ -Königsstrasse in Düsseldorf-, Germanys most popular shopping-street, is suited. Especially famous for families with children is the children`s farm of the city of Neuss. Here you`ll find chickens, goats, sheeps, horses, pigs and an educational trail.

The youth hostel Neuss-Uedesheim is located amidst the country directly at the Rhein-meadows. After an eventful day here you`ll find silence and recreation at a walk. You can relax also in the youth hostel itself, Families appriciate beside the cosy family-rooms and the comprehensive children equipment especially the play room and the outddor- play stations on the huge outdoor area. For music groups 5 rehearsal rooms are on hand. At the breaks and in the evening time a fireplace room and the big sun patio are inviting for companiable hours.
