A perfect woodland escape in the Surrey Hills, YHA Holmbury Surrey Hills was one of the first youth hostels in England and Wales (built 1935). Accommodation is in 2-4 bedded rooms and facilities include a self-catering kitchen and evening meals and camping facilities.Set in 4,000 acres of woodland in an area of outstanding natural beauty, YHA Holmbury Surrey Hills is a perfect rural retreat and a great base for day trips to London. Near to the village, it’s not far from Holmbury Hill with its panoramic views of the North and South Downs. Walking, mountain biking and horse-riding are available close by. Getting to the hostel: 35km from Gatwick Airport Train to Redhill Gomshall or to Dorking no bus to Holmbury on Sunday Bus #21 to Guildford or Dorking. 2 hourly service not available on Sundays.
